A call to senior middle school pupils and high school students

The “Discover Our Stories” Program is implemented by the Impresia Association of Unique Croatian Hotels as part of the wider “Sustainable Tourism, Sustainable Careers – Fast Forward to Excellence” Project, carried out in partnership with the Association of Employers in Croatian Hospitality (AECH), the Croatian Camping Union (CCU) and Jeunes Restaurateurs Croatia (JRE), with support and co-financing by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

Pupils and students are invited to join the project, and learn first-hand information about occupations and career development opportunities in tourism. The Culinary Department students will also be offered an exclusive opportunity to be shortlisted among 8 students to participate as observers in Ecole Ducasse Masterclasses in Split (February 24-25, 2026; February 26-27, 2026) and Pula (November 17-18, 2026; November 19- 20, 2026).

Applications

Senior Middle School Pupils

This call will select up to 15 senior middle school pupils who will have an opportunity to take an individual tour of the hotel closest to their place of residence, get to know the daily hotel operations and diverse departments, as well as talk to the hotel staff to learn more about occupations in the hotel industry. In collaboration with project partners, the pupils will also have the opportunity to learn about the occupations in travel agencies specializing in luxury tourism, high-category campsites and fine dining restaurants.

All interested pupils should send a motivation letter by e-mail to info@impresiacroatia.com no later than by 2/1/2026. The motivation letter should include the following:

  • The applicant’s first and last name, home address & e-mail
  • Primary school name & address, the applicant’s grade
  • Answers to the following questions:
    • What does tourism mean to you? (100 words max)
    • Which occupations in the hotel industry do you find interesting and why? (100 words max)

High school students

The call will select up to 45 high school students, who will have an opportunity to take an individual tour of the hotel closest to their place of residence, get to know diverse hotel departments, as well as talk to the hotel staff to learn more about occupations in the hotel industry, and receive career advice. In collaboration with project partners, the students will also have the opportunity to learn about the occupations in travel agencies specializing in luxury tourism, high-category campsites, and fine dining restaurants.
8 Culinary Department students will be given an opportunity to participate as observers in Masterclasses of Ecole Ducasse, one of the most famous international culinary institutes.

All interested students should send a motivation letter by e-mail to info@impresiacroatia.com no later than by 2/1/2026. The motivation letter should include:

  • The applicant’s first and last name, home address & e-mail
  • High school name & address, the applicant’s grade and department
  • Answers to the following questions:
    • What does tourism mean to you? (100 words max)
    • Which occupations in the hotel industry do you find interesting and why? (100 words max)
    • What interests you the most about the hotel industry? (100 words max)
  • Follow-up questions for the Culinary Department students interested to be shortlisted for participation in Ecole Ducasse Masterclasses:
    • Have you participated in culinary competitions? If yes, please specify in which competition(s) and in what role(s).
    • Have you worked in fine dining restaurants? If yes, specify in which.
